Should Sol have new ships and weapons?
You know, from a certain angle, the TDGS Termite class gunship looks like the frigates in Dune.

Dunno. I modeled it to carry elements from the Fenris/ Leviathan but still look different.

You might just run them into at least one campaign out there... luckily a single salvo is roughly comparable to a Tsunami.

I've played around with those too but I find that if one gets shot down they all go, and frequently with swarm bombs the shockwave of the first one hitting will set off the rest.

That Majestic IS a very good looking ship. I like it's lines. =)

I think that Sol will indeed focus on defensive systems research. A lot. The thought of having a planet-wasting invincible capship closing in can change the way some people think - and if they're stranded there, and a Lucifer Class Destroyer jumped in, they would have no way of intercepting it inside subspace before it reached Earth.

On Machina Terra, they took this measures to the extreme - wait and see...

Done. Well, it's just an Orion with new weapons and no engines, but nevertheless
