I saw this nice new wap effect and hand an idea. (I'm talking about the glowpoint that appears when ships jump in or out. Or more concrete, the scaling "animation".)

This would look pretty damn cool for afterburners. (Well, for the thruster glow, to be exact.)

Is this possible, or am I requesting super-complex code changes again?

I have a better idea for warping effect, why don't you do some special effetc like the warping from 3D Mark 2005 ?

Personnaly, I love this warping effect, a mixe between Motion blur and time distortion.

Well, this would require the use of pixel shaders afaik.
