I say definately yes. Even if it's only up for a week it would give some people a chance to grab the ISO and relieve the bandwidth on the other site (which maxed out last month).

The only comments I'd make are

1) Are you sure you have the bandwidth for this?
2) The EULA permits copies to be given to friends and aquaintances. I'm not 100% how easily you could justify letting random strangers from the net grab a copy (That said it's highly unlikely that interplay are in any state to complain at you).
3) Who are we allowed to tell? Everyone?

A torrent would be good too. They don't tend to stay up for long unfortunately. The TBP one was removed because people were just leeching.

Well, if we set up an arrangement where several of us continue to seed it for others - a dedicated "seed team" - then that would stop that from happening. That is, if speed and server bandwidth are an issue. But you're right, if we don't take any measures to prevent it, it'll just be leech city.

I've got a rar of the ISOs I can put a torrent up for, if anyone's interested. It's the standard version (not GOTY), comes in at about a gig and a half.

You can't put up FS1, that's warez. FS1's code wasn't released, hence, you can't distribute it for free.

I wish that people would stop refering to the code release as if it had any relevence whatsoever as to whether we can put up FS2 for download. It has none whatsoever. Putting up FS2 for download is also warez. I thought I explained all this only last week (Click me).

Basically a file that contains an image of a CD. You can either burn it to end up with a CD or use a program like Daemon-Tools to make your computer treat the file like a real CD.

IIRC it comes from the International Standards Organisation who are responsible for the standard. Whether or not they are connected (or the same as) the International Organization for Standardization is something I don't know
