I'm getting tired...
...of making these types of threads, but Labour just keeps going and going. Maybe I'm going a bit overboard, but it's too hot and humid to do anyting else, so you're stuck with me and my incessant ranting.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=44733

And before anyone mentions it, yes, I realize WorldNet Daily is a rather, shall we say, suspect source but the shoe fits. I wonder what Orwell would have thought, had he lived to see his country in such a state.

If it's true, then it's yet another nucking futs idea from the government.  I'd leave this country soon as I have the cash, but then I'd probably end up needing to get an Id card or some **** to do so...

It won't happen, but it's worrying that this kind of thing is even being seriously considered...

Keep it coming, Rictor - your ranting sparks debate, which is always fun around here... :)

What?! You don't expect us to give it to everyone, do you? Freedom doesn't grow on trees.

Freedom is but a word and an illusion.

As for the article, yet another possible way for the government to control the people.

"Illusion" is but a word. So is "word". The previous sentence was but a string of symbols attempting to represent concepts. So was that one. So was that one. So was that one. So was that one.

But ALL kids are criminals at 3 years old, they will quite happily steal, lie and cheat to get their own way, that's what being a 3 year old is all about!

I honestly cannot see this coming to pass. I work in Education, admittedly with teenagers, many of whom who have a criminal record before they ever join us, but then some of them have left us with equivalent A-Level working in Finance or Law and some have even gone on to university. The whole idea of crime being 'Heriditary' in some way was disproved over a century, there is no way of telling who is going to be a criminal and who wasn't.

After all, Geoffrey Archer attending a public school, got excellent marks and a degree and he was a criminal. Or is it only a certain kind of criminal they are looking for.

All I'll say is this, I have lost far far more in this life to well-dressed white men in suits than I have ever lost to a 'Yob', as our media call them.

It is the ultimate prejudice, we seem intent on branding an entire generation because of the actions of a few, a few that existed in my generation and all the ones before it. Yes, the problem is more extreme this time, and for that I blame the media for gloryfying the whole 'antisocial behaviour' thing and for making a 'must have now' society.

I think that however bad the "antisocial behavior" crap may be, the media is blowing it out of proportion. The impression you get from reading the BBC, nothing extreme or on the fringe, just the good old Beeb, is that London is worse than the slums of Rio de Jeneiro. Not exactly the sort of thing your would expect from Brits.

Honestly though, I hope someone is seriously contemplating putting an end to the current Labour circle-jerk...with a 50 cal. sniper rifle.

Thing is, all the government has done to a large degree is remove responsibility from the hands of the teenagers. What with the invention of Attention Defecit Syndrome, and numerous other 'Syndromes' that, in my opinion, don't exist, the trouble causers cannot be bought to justice. When kids at school see the troublemakers getting away with whatever they want, then they start thinking 'Well, if they can do it, so can I'.

I've been accused of 'violating someones human rights' by telling them not to wear their hood up indoors, and I actually had to point out that in my culture, it's considered an insult to wear non-religious head coverings indoors, I was always taught that, I actually had to turn the governments own over-baked political correctness against itself in order to defend my actions.

And that is the problem nobody is responsible for their own actions any more. If I had had the chance to hide behind Human Rights or a Syndrome when I was a kid, I'd have played it for all it was worth as well.
