We've had bomb threats before. One of the guys in my grade was the one making the phone calls... :nervous:

Indeed.

It all started going down-hill when they invented crossbows... :sigh:

Now any fool with a gun could kill the greatest man. A sad time it is that advances in technology make the stupid dangerous. :(

The stupid were always dangerous, it's just back then it took more of them (and they were never in short supply).

Hahah, nicely put. But they're still rather plentiful, it seems. Perhaps Darwin was wrong after all....

 True I guess.

But a small group of Intelligent people could often control them.

Not really...

By definition, the exceptionally intelligent cannot be a majority of any population. They would no longer be exceptional then. When the rest of humanity catches up (and assuming they do catch up: presumably smart people evolve too), the definition of intelligence is revised upwards.

We didn't just have a bomb scare at my school, we actually had a bomb go off.  It was a pipe bomb, and blew the hell out of one of the boys restrooms.  Thank god that nobody was in there.

I've never had a bomb threat...

...but I'd rather have one than the potential and tension that sometimes comes due to possible city-wide rioting and religious voilence. (we had that once...man, it was simply scary then..)

I remember in middle school after the Columbine shooting we got 50 bomb threats a week for 2 weeks.

And then in high school there was a bomb threat, but school wasn't cancelled. We just sat around outside for two hours while the bomb squad went through the building.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside
