Actually, it's arguably bad news... I was bumming around the web and decided to drop in on Volition's website, just to see if THQ was giving them time to work on a game, instead of more console trash. Nothing was terribly surprising*, so I just started clicking around (christ, I'm bored) and wound up at the support page.
I got a chuckle out of how long it had apparently been since the last update to that page. There were so many Interplay links that I had a hard time
not clicking one. Far be it from me to demonstrate willpower, I clicked the link to the Descent 1 support page, and got a 404. That left me scratching my head.
A 404 error means the server is there, while the page is not. Last time I checked Interplay's website, the server had gone down because the few remaining employees had been locked out of the building by the California government. Well, it seems the server has been reestablished, and
www.interplay.com is a functioning (albeit bare-bones and downright fugly) website again. Looks like they're trying to stagger back from the edge again...
Oh well... I suppose it's about time for FS2 to grace this new machine's hard drive, so that I can waste away more of my young adulthood building missions.
* -- Actually, I was surprised to see a PC demo of Punisher available, but since the game seems to have been out since January or earlier, and there's no review links posted, I can only assume that there's no good reviews to be linked to.
