I recently gave myself a migrane trying to learn PHP and SQL. I don;t think I'll be looking into C for some time, if ever. :p

I'm occassionally pluging away at learning C++. I fully intend to learn eventually but I keep getting distracted and at the moment I consider actually showing off the new SEXPs (in my missions :D ) more important than learning C++ and adding my own.

Once I've finished SoR though it will be another matter :)

Forgot I didn't have a link in my sig :D

SoR is the prequel to The Mercury Affair. I've promised to finish it before Christmas now so next year I should be a little more free :)

Ive learned a lot in the last couple of months (through books and fooling around) and have been able to do a few things. I have made slight modifications to the FS2NetD server that I run, dunno if that counts though. I will definately be interested in helping with the multiplayer aspect of the game in the future.

Hmmm, Matthew....

Ping me on IM, contributing the server for fs2netd certainly earns you a spot.

And if you want code to fiddle with, boy do I have something for you :)

p.s. yes, I know I owe you the fs2netd php scripts, I have been a bad, lazy monkey...

I made a simple console to run the server from (I hate running it from COMMAND) and read certain settings from the registry. Really minor but it makes it easier for me :) . Now only if I could finish this C++ book.....

I would but I don't have the time, the knowledge or a compiler. :D

It's the time bit that's the important one.

There're some variables that you can add to the top of the file that I've never properly learned how to add if you're creating a new file. (you just copy-paste from another page, I think, but I'm not sure)

Other than that, just stick with the general style of the code and make it easy to read. It's best to get an updated copy of the source and use that, though - how come you can't get any newer version?
