Needed SCP files with R1 patch1

Hi people,

Could you please help me with a "Inferno Patch1 install for dummies" ?

I would like to play Inferno, but alway get some untextured ships.

what I do :
Fresh full install of FS2 + patch 1.2
Full install of SCP 3.6
replace exe with special Inferno exe
install vp 3.6.6
Install Inferno R1
Install Inferno R1 patch 1

Duhh !!!

I tried searching, I read all pages from the faq of answering, to no avail. Any help appreciated.

You need:
Full FS2 Patched
Either INFR1 versions
R1 SCP patch
Any SCP Exe (You don't need an INF_Build, those are for the next release only)

You shouldn't need the SCP media vps or any additional files.

You need to create a mod folder named something like 'INFR1' put all of the Inferno files in it and then use the launcher mod commandline (in this case '-mod INFR1') to run it.
If some ships are not loading textures (EA ones?) its most likely it's not reading the Inferno VP files and so fails to load the custom maps. Does it happen on most fighters and EA and SOC capships?

Well, yes it happened mostly on EA ships (new ships). But I did read a lot of time you need a special inferno exe  to avoid crash in some missions when you were using SCP ?

Not with the SCP patch. The patch fixes those issues.

Only the next release requires a special build, and that will be included with the installer since it's a stand alone mod.

PS : I had lots of troubles to find precisely what I needed, maybe include the "Install Inferno R1.1 for dummy" in your faq ?

Well the FAQ of the new site is for the next release, not R1, and any SCP FAQ should be enough information to install it as it's no different to install R1 than any other mod.

Fileplanet seems to no longer have the R1 scp patch.  Can someone please link me to it here?

It's still there for now I just tried it. Sometimes fileplanet gives a 404 error, just refresh when it does.

I can't guarnatee it staying on fileplanet however...

Thanks for the quick response.  The link on Inferno's downloads page just goes to fileplanet's "Sign up Today" page that comes up when they don't have the file anymore.  I tried a manual search and only found the Inferno Release 1.  I need the SCP Patch.  Do you have a link I can use?

You need to have a fileplanet account if you don't have one. Make sure you're logged in.

Then click this link:

Scroll down to the 'free public servers' section and select download now.

WTF.  I have an account, and I was logged in, yet every time I click that link it sends me back to "Log In Today."  I hate fileplanet.  Thanks for you're help, I promise I'm not that dumb.  As long as you're sure it is actually still on there, I'll figure it out.

I got it.  I re-logged in like six times and it finally worked.  I just assumed originally when I got the "Sign Up Today" screen when it also gave me the option to "logout" in the corner that the file was no longer there.  Thanks again.

Is that patch needed if you have the FS2 retail version? (got my R1 from download.com)

No the patch will break retail FS2.
