Yeah, the second I saw that episode I was thinking: the Ancients probably saw that those critter were hardy and pretty much immortal so decided to experiment with that as a method of extending their lifespan. The end result being the Wraith who now hate the Ancients who created them.

We already found that out in the first season. I think in the time-travel episode.

As for the Ori, they strike me as ripped off from DS9's Pah Wraiths (the evil versions of the "ascended" wormhole aliens)-- complete with red-eyed possessed Gul Dukat clone.

Frankly though, I'm so fed up with real-world religious zealots that I only want to see them on SG-1 if they're being dropped into chipper-shredders.

I've only seen the first 3 episodes thanks to a VHS tape...the rest of the season is not available to me until November when the DVD comes out.
