Does anyone know if these I-War games are better or even as good as Warhead on the Amiga. I loved Warhead and I-War has been mentioned on various occasions as a sort of spiritual successor, but I've never played either version of I-War.
Be warned: This site's admins stole 100s of hours of my work. They will do it to you.

Ah, c'mon, I-war 2 has some replay value.  It's fun to try skulking around millitary bases early on, looking for early heavy pbcs.  Then noticing how nonchalant they are about strange, armed ships formating with military convoys and ldsi-ing them after they're out of range of the base.  Nothing short of a pbc on the backside wakes those guys up.

As for time compression, I had my own solution.  Mod the LDS drives to super-duper fast.

A fellow Warhead fan! I thought I was the only one left! :) From what I've read one of the people who wrote I-War was the same guy behind Warhead. I have no idea if he was connected with I-War II but I've heard lots of people say that they prefered the original to the sequel.

I've only played the second one which is very good but fairly different in style from Warhead (more of an emphasis on lasers and particle beams where as in Warhead everything was about missiles).

No Beserker in I-war either as far as I know :)

The problem wasn't LDS so much as the game taking a geological age to do capsule jumps unless you went to the trouble of doing them all manually.

That's good news. Even with instructions telling me how to get rid of that thing I wasn't ever able to do it.

Really? I didn't find it that hard to beat him. In fact the second time I played I knew that the Beserker mission was the only mission during which you were given authorisation to go anywhere so I ended up taking quite a tour of the galaxy on that mission.

In fact the only problem I had with that mission is that I built up such a high velocity that I spent about a minute trying to slow myself down :)

If you've only ever gotten that far you're missing out on some seriously great missions.

anyway the game starts getting alot easier by the time you get the T-Fighters (mission 4), by then you have the controls down and some decent equipment.

my mods:
Repair Ship Mod
Cargo Splode Mod

you'll need the latest patch (14.6) and the Multimod mod found here: http://www.i-war2.com/downloads/multimod.zip

What's the cargo splode mod?  Don't think I've seen it before.

i made it the other day when i started playing again.  basically, when you take antimatter out from your base as cargo, it would only make a dinky explosion.  this fixes that :)

WMDs, then?  Cool.  I'll give it a shot if I ever get round to reinstalling IW2 (truth be told I can't be arsed redoing some of the stealth missions, like the one in the command section)

You're my hero.

Does it affect spawned antimatter cargo pods that you pick up from megafreighters and the like?

If so, choking te Lag just got more fun (though less profitable).

no.  it only runs once when you leave base.  It basically saves the time it takes to go AM-bowling.  Usually if i find AM, i'd just RTB and save.  Also useful if you find multiple AM pods on a convoy, since you can only use one - If you come back, the pods would have disappeared.

Probably one of the most common questions. You don't launch ECM. They're launched automatically. If you do want to launch a flare, you can load one of your regular 'packs with ECM/Decoys and select that as a weapon and fire it. There's also a mod that lets you assign a launch flares key, but its not really worthwhile.

I need help with one of mission:

I'm after military base raid, I had to steal personal rifles for Stevenson. I stealed them(I'm not sure If stealed right crate but mission objectives said that I was right), towed to my base but I don't know what to do next. I have an objective to ask Jaff to do the trade (mission name :gun runner) but I don't know how to do that, I tried it from my base trade meny to it say that I can't satify that trade :(
help.

BTW where I can find some solution to I-war 2 ??

Edit: Solution found, problem solved by pathing the game.

You need to go to the trade screen like you did. Are you sure you have enough personal rifles?
