Hehe... Those were the days. I can barely remember them, but they were a bit different back then. I remember the whole Vadar_1 thing, though. Had the same kind of smug attitude as an0n when it was admitted that he did whatever it was he did on IRC. As a matter of fact, Vadar_1 and an0n seem awful similar now that I think about it. Hmmm...
Anyway, back on topic, I have seen some of the best, as well as some of the worst of communities on these forums ever since I joined. The welcoming portion back then wasn't as vibrant as it is today. You would perhaps get a warm welcome, but I don't remember the welcome beam or the welcome boilerplate that we have now

. Back then, it also wasn't tightly woven as it is now. People were part of the community, but people came and went as they saw fit, and it didnt really affect anything. If an0n was banned back then, I don't think it would have mattered. Now I see a community where everyone has his or her place, and the community is like a living, breathing organism. It ingests newbs, and fecalates the waste.
Anyway, I saw this place as welcoming back then, and I see it as welcoming now. And compared to other forums, it is kept real. Hell, on BeyondUnreal forums, you were judged solely by your postcount. The members were idiots, and the staff were bigger idiots. It was no surprise that I left that wretched place on very bad terms, almost regretable... almost

.
