Well, I've done a few renders recently, some of them for the spacebattles OBS. The best so far has to be this one:

How long does that take to render (I mean for your PC to draw, not the time you put into it)

for that 800x600 image? 4 hours. It was around 200k polys actual 700k shadow - had I increased the resolution to even just 1024x768 though, it'll take 8. Worse is 1280x1024........

That really does not look like it should take four hours...C4D might take 30 minutes at most to render something similar. Particularly as there's only one evident lightsource.

It does look a little flat on the lighting side.
