Can't stand the 64's controller (PS1 Dual Shocks for me :)), but I do love quite a few of its games, probably Ocarina of Time most of all.  I finally bought a used one early this year, and I'm attempting to play through GoldenEye's singleplayer, which I find to be surprisingly hard. :p  I've played multiplayer a few times, and I'll agree that it was a great party game; it's nice to see old classics revived like this. :)

I'd agree with you there somewhat regarding the Controller. It was a really great design, but that Joystick would just destroy itself in no time! A friend of mine rented Mario Party one weekend long, long ago, and together with several mates, effectively destroyed all his N64 Controller Joysticks, to a degree that he could no longer play any game with them...

...On another note; make sure you get Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. I find it to be a better rounded entry into the LoZ franchise. While it may not have the overall inovation and sheer scale of Ocarina of Time, MM has a much better story, and looks considerably better than OoT...

...I'm hoping they leave the levels exactly as they were, just with awesome new graphics. Seriously, there were some levels (ie. Stack) that you just can't improve upon...indeed, no console FPS has been able to recreate the innovation and fun of GoldenEye (although Halo 2 w/ XboxLive came pretty close)...

Sheer. Gaming. Perfection.

I don't think any FPS holds the same place in my heart as Goldeneye.... rampaging through Caverns with twin RPCs... priceless.

Brings back childhood memories... someone bought one into our school common room for the year. A few of us spent ages playing paintball mode... no wonder we got no work done!

I replayed through Goldeneye recently and managed to beat all of 00 Agent to create a 007 file. which I'd never done before. Kinda made me realise hardly any FPS since has had better animations or AI.

While it did, the time clock on the game was sheer anoyance. And thats the reason I hate that game.

I have to say... I'm excited but looking at the screenshots it's not like they've improved on the maps at all. You'd think they could update the geometry and add some interesting stuff in.

In all fairness, I've mucked around with Doom 3 modding, and you tend to build the basic geometry of the room in and add other objects once you've got most of the architecture and triggers etc out of the way, so you can see what you're doing ;) So I wouldn't give up on food for the physics engine quite yet ;)

Then you're one of the seven people worldwide not to like that feature, as it was the main concept behind the entire game...! I've found most complaints about it come from the Owl Save-Points, which can lead to severe heart-ache as they only save once, and don't stick...

I actually bought and played Majora's Mask not too long ago, and while I didn't like it as much as Ocarina of Time, I did think that it was a very good game.  I honestly didn't mind the time feature, and I have no idea why it took so much flak from some people.  Once you had the Song of Soaring, things got a lot easier.  In each of the four areas, all you really had to worry about was getting to the owl statue closest to the dungeon entrance before the three days were up; you could then just head back to the first day, fly right there, and start the dungeon.  Plus, with the Song of Inverted Time, there really wasn't that much pressure at any single point, and when things did start to get tight, it just served to add to the game's excitement.  The one thing I never did while playing was to let the clock run down all the way; I was too softhearted to see the world getting destroyed. :p

Heh, no no - I couldn't bully him..

..his mum used to make me bagels and drive me to school and back with him.. and drop me off outside my own house.

Wouldn't have been a smart move to bully him. I just let everyone else do it.
