I know I have seen this question posted before but never got an answer as to how it was fixed.


Playing the stock campaign in the second mission when I approach the asteroid I get a series of lock ups that will either clear for a few minutes or lock my system down requiring a hard reboot. I have tried removing all but the required VP's tried with no options tried different screen resolutions using the current build. I have the FS dump if it will help..

I know I am missing something stupid so help me out....

Honestly I have never heard of this issue. Have you ever tried uninstalling fs2 and reinstalling

I have I will give it another try and be more careful about what I add.
I will post back up if I get anywhere. Or if I dont.:lol:

Ok so uninstalled everything, cleaned out the folders, re installed FS2 patched to 1.2 dropped 3.6.7 exe into folder dropped launcher 5.3 ran with no options on no media vp's installed and got brief freezes through the first mission a few brief freezes in the second until I headed for the asteroid base then locked hard.  With the exception of the hard lock the freezes seem to come when I get a little too close to an exploding ship.

Ummm. 3.6.7 isn't out yet. Try a different build cause if that one is the one I think it is, then it's pretty old.
