Does this look Vasudany at all to you? It started off as something else, but when I messed around with it, it seemed to look a bit Vasudan to me. So I tried following their design methods with it, smooth-organic like, while still following my own way of putting some sharp extrusions in.

So... opinions? It's still sort of early. No mesh clean up or turrets yet.

Anything that resembles any kind of a fish is Vasudan, but it depends a lot on texture as well.

Heh, it does look it doesn't it. Wasn't my intention there, but maybe textures might hide that (yeah right). I'll see if I can make it look less Trek-ish.

Try narrowing it in the middle of the "saucer" and ballooning it out in the front of the saucer (to make some sort of "ant claw" look).
Also, try adding something to the back or something...it's too..empty.

Yanno, come to think of it, if one chops off the nacelles of any Star Trek ship done in the Picard era and softens the entire ship slightly it will prolly look VERY Vasudany with proper texturing

DONT De-trekify it. Just because it resembles something we're familiar with doesn't mean you need to change it.

With good texs it could definitely be some sort of Vassy ship - not a warship though methinks.

hmmmm.  Looks great.  Definitely Vasudan.  Screams transport to me.

To be honest, there aren't many models that in one way or another don't look trekish.

It looks as if an Aten had consumed one too many fish-shaped donuts...but I like it precisely because of that. Possibly an upgraded Aten or some other sort of cruiser.

After looking at it, to me it looks a bit like a stringray, a fishy like thing, so I won't touch the general shape. A good texturing job would enhance that a bit too. Any volunteers?

Anyhow, I'm calling it a cruiser. Seems right to me. Mostly normal turrets, maybe a single slash beam or something.

And here's a pic with less ruining foreshortening. I don't know what to do with the engines right now. They don't look good at all to me.

Personally, I'd add a bit of ribbing (either in textures or in modelled detail) to break up the saucer-ish look a bit. There's also some wasted polys there, which could be better used elsewhere for smoothing or detailing.

Interestingly, I didn't see a stingray here. I thought of a trilobyte--which gives me an idea.

I saw it got asymetrical so I had to go slice it in half and then mirror it, which created some polys I don't need. Those will get cleaned up in the end. And now that you mention it, it does look like a trilobyte. Neat.

Yeah, just add a couple more lobes and maybe something along the belly to approximate legs (this is where you can revive the Typhons launch tubes, short and stubby) and there you have it.

This thing looks HARD CORE! I think it would make a good super destroyer or at the least a cruser. Its got all the stuff, its similar to other designs but different enough to stand out in a crowd.
As far as fighter bays, maybe something on the belly or coming from the tail?

Inferno's got a Vasudan ship that looks very similar to this (looks a bit more Cardassian than Federation without the textures though)
