Uhm, are you nuts? Why the heck are you watching season 2 if you haven't seen 1? It's not some flaky disconnected episodes Star Trek series we're talking about, you know. Go get the DVD!

Actually, wise move on their part. If one Battlestar has Mk. II's, and one has Mk. V's, which one are you going to upgrade with Mk. VII's first? :)

WHEN. IS. THE. NEXT. EPISODE??!?!?!?!?!?

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. I mean, we get it that they were able to board civillian transports with the marines because the civillian transports can't do anything to stop the dock, but the Pegasus can just train its turrets onto the MT and blow it up easily.

Meh, who gives a crap, we'll see.

Something that seems to work really well in the BSG universe (the new one anyways) is that electronic counter measures are important and can be used to ones advantage.

I haven't seen the episode yet...so I don't know. But this one has me excited.

What was the musical change BTW?  That sounds cool too!  They like to mix things up...last season was alot of mid-eastern riffs and some Celtic inspired stuff.  Oh and the UK opening/Season 2 theme is Gailic I think.

Good point about the parlty force Adama launched:

1.) Cain orders to engage (Thus insuring a civial war as I hinted at earlier - nice).

2.) Deployed units are a ruse, Starbuck secretly docks and fights way into cellblock ala "Star Wars" and frees the Chief and Helo.

3.) Cain gives in, "Sorry Bill, I was just Fracking with you. Sure come on over and get your men." (Highly unlikely)

Or Starbuck, who's in the blackbird trying to 1-up the Pegasus' recon plan, comes back just before the fighter screens converge on each other with some earth-shattering discovery about the Cylon fleet.  And  the common-enemy thing sets in.

I doubt Galatica and Pegasus will start actually fighting, because the writers aren't that stupid. Pegasus would wipe out Galatica, thus ending the series. Or some stupid equalizer will be introduced. In any case, you can't have the humans fighting (well fighting yes, killing no) each other, it goes against the spirit of the show.

One more thing. If I remember correctly, the new Vipers (the sleek grey-blue ones) are susceptible to Cylon electronic attacks, as a whole squad was wiped out in the miniseries. How come they're still in use? Wouldn't they be next to useless?

That's what I'm curious about. You'd think that the Cylons would have transmitted their virus into the shipyard and the Pegasus would have been taken out that way.

Unless the refit included the overhaul to the computer systems that would have led to their using Baltar's software...

Couple of things against that...

One is that Apollo still flies his Mark VIII in some episodes.  We haven't seen him fighting the Cylons there but we did see some Mark VII's return to the flight deck during the mini-series after doing battle.

Two is that most of the literature coming out of the shows producers say that the Mark VII's big suscepitibility was in the flight control system. Apparently the Viper Mark VII has a crazy thrust to weight ratio so its insanely manueverable...so to compensate they installed a flight control computer and made it so any pilot could fly the thing.  So apparently the Cylon trick goes through the flight control system.  Apparently they ripped that out...now its very hard to fly but extremely capable in the right hands.

I want to see more of that type of Viper...they are REALLY cool looking.

Exactly! No one would expect the main Battleship of 'Battlestar Galactica' to be the 'Battlestar Pegasus'. It's a cunning plot twist, I tell ya. :drevil:

...ooohh... you just gave me an idea that sends shudders down my spine.

..ok, not really, but it's cool/messed up, all the same:

What if that big unidentified thing is an '80's Cylon Basestar, resurrected as some mothership of some sort? ;7

Considering that the title of the next episode is...
Spoiler:
RESURRECTION SHIP
...I think that gives us a pretty good idea what the mystery ship is.

Since it's a given that the Pegasus is going to be destroyed by the end of the next episode, I'm curious how much of their crew and equipment Galactica will absorb.
