Hello.

I ave some problem with Fred2. I try to explain my problem (sorry for bad english, I'm french, and not a good language studies).

So. After Installation or Freespace2 (Freespace 2 + Patch 1.2), I try to launch FRED2. No problem.

After that, a try to install FS2Open (fs2_open_367.exe), and de vp File.

After that, FRED2 Crash with this error message :

Error: Error parsing 'weapons.tbl'
Error code = 2.

oh, this one should be simple.

Simply extract a copy of the weapons.tbl from your root.vp (if you have vpview) and put it into your data\tables directory.

If you dont have VPView, or a way to extract files from .vps, you can run a search from the start menu for any .tbl files in your Freespace 2 folder. From here, look around and delete any weapons.tbl files you find.

If that doesn't work, it could just be that you're using retail FRED2 with the media VPs (which is a bad thing, since retail FRED2 no longer has the capacity to run the high-end stuff in the media vps I think). If this is the case, try downloading and running this build of FRED2 and see if the same problems occur.

Welcome to the Hard Light Productions forums, Faro. Current top-side temperature is 40532 degrees centigrade, with internal temperatures being in the somewhat high side of 30 degrees centigrade.

Currently en-route to the Freespace Campiagns forums. In the case of a disaster or an attack from interplay, all personnel are to evacuate the train regardless of if you are near a train station or above a pitch-black pit of death. In case of emergency, there are flamethrowers underneath yuor seat, but due to budget cuts and constraints, we have no napalm with which to fill them, so all they shoot now is water. There are plasma pistols in the lockers up front, but these lockers may only be opened by an Admin, a god or a hyper-intelligent shade of the color blue.

Please avoid crawling through the air vents unless completely possible, as they are currently reserved for Carl the shivan. If you see Carl and he is schreeching at you, pray to high heaven and run the other way without looking back. Oki, Now, FRED2.exe work ...

But I'm curious, I download fred2_open_r.exe. The I found the movements of caméro much more ... "fluid" !

But ...  I have large "points" of color in the place of the vessels (Bleu, green and Red points).

Another question. I must to extract all Files of VP File in data directory for plays FS2 open or not ?

Ah - those are again, easy to fix. Go to the menu tab --> view --> show outlines or show ship models.

You dont need to extract hte .vp files to make it work - simply putting them into your root directory should work well enough.

If I were you Faro I'd ditch FRED2 completely and stick to the exe that Singh reccomended (You can delete the weapons table from Data if you do).

FRED2_Open can do everything that FRED2 can do and more so why limit yourself?
