Using the FS2 engine to film a space fight sequence
I watched the MT trailer and wondered what engine he used? I heard that he used the 3ds Max, but would it possible to use the actual game engine? I would want to make a dogfighting sequence for instance. Got any ideas?

I believe you can video-capture screen images with some programs (I think I have one on my Hd, actually) or Video-Out capture card.

The BWO trailer had some cool game engine dogfighting scenes. I think it was Dynamo who made those scenes. I don't remember what equipment he used but I guess you need the stuff aldo wrote above.

I have a program somewhere that takes screen captured videos, but I'm not sure if it works with actual games.

Aaah, ok. Thanks you guys! BTW, could it be possible to plant cameras on the outside of the cocpit and outside views of the ships at different angles? I mean other than the ones given by the game itself. Some that follow, pan, arc. That sorta stuff. Or would that require the source code which Interplay doesen't seem to want to give?

Sounds impossible on the last there Dark_4ce.

To get the camera to pan around you'd have to pilot the ship first, then manually move the camera around.

Oh, and the source code is simmilarly impossible to come across as well.

Yes, it amply demonstrated Dynamo's unl33+ piloting skills.
