This is not a signature.
You did not see this.
It was all a dream.
You will not tell anyone about this.

Now go and read this signature again.

So, you actually bothered to scroll down, eh? If you're that bored, you might as well take a look at the links above.

So anyway... how can I stop that? I want it so that it takes 10 seconds  before key-reset is called and the beam can be fired once more, but I can't figure out how to do that.

Unless you're using the every-time SEXP instead of when you can't. It's a long standing bug with FS2 that you can't use Key-reset in a repeating event.

If you're using every-time then certain keys will work while others fail.

So I'm stuck with beam-free-all and the beam targeting whatever ship you have targeted then.

Nope. You can use every-time to set a variable and then key-reset.

Then use the variable in a second event to determine when to fire the beam and reset the variable.

You know, I was messing around with beams myself last weekend:

As for the turrets firing multiple beams simultaneously, I think that's actually used in the main campaign in sm1-06 (The Great Hunt). The Ravana fires both LReds at both the Lysander and Actium at the same time.

I saw two fire-beams, one pointed at the Actium and one at the Lysander.

Also, the Lysander self-destructs after the Ravana is detected, timed to be when it's hit by the beam.

I wept. Mysterious forces beyond my ken had reached into my beautiful mission and energized its pilots with inhuman bomb-firing abilities. I could only imagine the GTVA warriors giving a mighty KIAAIIIIIII shout as they worked their triggers, their biceps bulging with sinew after years of Ivan Drago-esque steroid therapy and weight training. - General Battuta

Reminds me of the time I added "Player Allowed" to the BGreen beam's flags and put it on both turrets of an Osiris. Fun times.
