anyone interested in Chronicles of Riddick (for a little trade, that is)
No Im not trying to spam....  I got a DVD which was supposed to have Far Cry on it, and well, IT DOESN'T, so now im pissed...  It has the following games on it:   Richard Burns Rally Racing, Chronicles of Riddick Escape from the Butcher Bay, and Tribes: Vengeance (which I already Own).  I REALLY want a copy of Far Cry!!!  If anyone is willing to 'Trade' me Far Cry for either of those games above (and maybe get a little surprise along with it), I would really appreciate it.  If not, well I guess I'll  have to go run through a wall and see if I make it out alive so I can go Buy a copy of Far Cry (purely out of frustration).

Thanks, Zman..  Hope this isn't considered spamming.....

P.S. If you are willing, leave a post, Email me or PM me...  [email protected].
Well what do I do now?  Well Jack, you seem to have an act for blowing things up....

[color=66ff00]You bought a DVD with those games on it? :wtf:

Methinks you've been shopping at The Entirely Legitimate Shoppe of Games. Remember that everything publicly discussed on HLP has to be above board.

well, i didnt technically BUY it, it came with my graphics card that I bought.  Sapphire sent it to me directly, and I thought it had far cry on it, but it only has 3 games on it.  I called sapphire, and they said that they only promote a few games at a time, and the games i listed before are the ones that they are promoting..  unfortunatly....  No i dont buy pirated games....  its definitly a LEGAL DVD

Get FarCry Instincts if you can. Believe it or not, it's better than its PC counterpart.

Well, I've got a copy of far cry I'd be willing to trade, since I thought the game sucked royally, but I already have riddick and the other two aren't too interesting.  Anything else you might be willing to swap?

well lets see what I have....  I have Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, nope cant have that, never finished it.  I have Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, I havent played it, but I dont really have any interest on RPG games.  I have Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project, which came with my PCX 5750 Graphics card, I dont want it, never was interested in Duke Nukem.

Tell you what, prince of persia runs for about 10 bucks or so...  if you took that, id give you some cash to replace the missing value, since I dont have too many good games...  what games are u looking for?  If you think of Anything, let me know...  But Im definitly willing to give you the cash to take place of the missing value...

I have Far Cry, but I rather liked that game and would prefer to keep it. (I've seen much better, but apart from SCCT it's the best of the modern FPS games)

That's a pretty good game bundle, but if that games DVD was advertised as coming with Far Cry and it didn't, then it's the manufacturers fault, so try calling them up and complaining. If that doesn't work then head on to ebay and grab a copy for 10 bucks.

Actually, I had a similar situation with the SBLive 5.1 X-Gamer I bought three years ago. The bundle contained Deus Ex, Thief 2, MDK2 and UT, but the UT CD was defective and unreadable. I didn't bother complaining though since I already had UT anyway. (this is probably the best game bundle I have ever seen; all of the games were top notch)

I've heard that it's quite different, but not necessarily better. For example, the original had a very nonlinear level design in many maps, but there is none of that in Instincts, and of course the graphics suck compared to the PC version.

it wasnt necessarily ADVERTISED.  I read on like 5 review sites, and a review for an X800 XL 512MB and it listed the games on the EVD.  I called sapphire (AFTER i bought the card.  I also called them before the card, and they told me that it had games from ubisoft, and vivendi universal, which is tribes and Far Cry so yeah, but thats a completly different phone call) and they said that those were the only games they were promoting, so it would take some time till they did far cry (im assuming).  it wasnt really a complaint, but I talked to the guy who sent it to me, and thats what he told me.  hes an honest guy.  to be honest, i wasnt supposed to get any game DVD with an X850 Pro, but he said dont worry about it, and he just sent it to me.  Its probably just better if I try to swap with someone.  He already gave me a break, so why should i complain...

Another thing that upset me was that i figured if i couldnt pick far cry, maybe ill just pick brothers in arms - road to hill 30 (or w.e. its called).  its not on the DVD either....

Prince of Persia's about as far from an RPG as you can get.  It's a 3D platformer/fighter with some absolutely unique control characteristics.  You should at least give it a try before selling it. :p

I need to pick up that game some time. I have never tried any of the modern ones actually, but the original POP games in the early '90s were awesome. I spent a lot of time with those. The first one still runs well on my old Mac (and the mac version has updated graphics), but POP2 unfortunately has all kinds of issues even on dosbox or semi-old systems. I download a Mac version of that too but it won't fit on floppies and I have no other way of transferring it.

It's more fun because it isn't so nonlinear. And because its multiplayer mode kicks the originals arse.

:wtf:

linear maps = teh suck in almost all cases. It gives maps an artificial, overly scripted feeling and causes them to have little replay value.

You might be right about the multiplayer though. Although you have to use the weird xbox gamepad, so that makes it less fun than it would be otherwise.

I don't like FPSes. They're too tense, and I don't like being tense. However, FarCry was so awesome that I played it through. Multiple time. It's definitely worth the money.

I don't find most FPSs tense. Well, some can be, like the Thief and Splinter Cell games, but those are quite different than typical FPSs and it immerses you more in the game anyway.
