Honestly though, I think the VBB is more or less beyond redemption. This has been a long time coming, and this huge push in the last week (as you've described it - as a testament to the VBB's saddening state of affairs, I've just found myself not going there anymore) may well be the donkey that breaks the straw's back.
And yes, I did put that the wrong way. But really the VBB is just not fit to take anything like this - no admins, no mods, no resources at all. It's becoming
just a forum, not really a community anymore. The disjointedness that is present in there will be very, very difficult to repair, and probably close to impossible without the joint efforts of most of the vets who are long gone already. Which is, unfortunate as it is, highly unlikely.
I'm not going to tell anyone that it is a useless effort to try and restore the Volition community (ie. a solution to the VBB situation - be it fixing the VBB, or moving to VW, or otherwise), but I
am going to advise everyone against wasting time on it. It is
my humble opinion that no more can be done. Naturally, I could be wrong... but we
have tried it before. And it wasn't too successful.
However, I tip off my hat to anyone willing to try, and wish everyone best of luck. Here's to hoping HLP will stay crap-free as time passes. Just remember that it may be sad and it may be disappointing, but **** happens, okay? And sometimes you can't do anything. So try not to get too caught up in it.
