Possible TC but need community oppinion
I've been sucking this in for a very long time. I have developed a rather large storyline which I created for the sole purpose of either being a TC or a complete game if either I join a game company or sell my ideas to them.

My TC is a sci-fi based storyline I call 'Silent Dawn' or SD for short. However this storyline in enourmas and I have thought of ALMOST (and I emphasise that word ALMOST as in not everything) everything whether it be faction politics, technological details, population personalities, history, strategies, attitudes, oppinions, archetecture (can't spell it), and whatever else that doesn't come at the top of my head. Because the storyline is so long I have divided it into 5 portions referred as a 'Era' so portion 3 is referred to as 'Era III' or just 3 instead of the numerals. This story is an original storyline that DOES NOT take place in existing stories or franchises. This is not Star Wars, not Freespace, nothing. It is my own story that I made from scratch. However the original design was for an RTS game, restructuring it to be for a space sim limits a few things, I will explain why later. Here is the settings and names of the 5 Eras:

Era I
'Silent Dawn I: The New Order'
2635 CE - 2643 CE
Summary
It may have been 500 years since the HSF has abandoned Earth and settled on planet Homeworld, but old hatreds still burn in those who survived the nuclear war. The HSF didn't start the war, they just fled it. But the survivors blame the HSF, and they want retribution.

Era II
'Silent Dawn II: 'Recursus ad Terram' (Return to Earth in latin)
2646 CE - 2648 CE
Summary
The invaders were crushed and now they must pay dearly for the millions they killed. The HSF (now known as the Homeworld Republic or simply 'Homeworlders') return to Earth with a vengeance and determined to liberate the true home.

Era III
'Silent Dawn III: The Trade Wars'
2765 CE - 2780 CE
Summary
Not all the problems lie in the Homeworlders hands. It has been 150 years since planet Kataran was colonized and made independent and the Katarates have grown to be a powerful power in the century and half. But to everyone's suprise, a splinter colony was discovered! Other humans that escaped the nuclear war of 2135! Known as the 'Tharcadians', they live on a mostly water world of Tharcadia and have been alone for many long years. But now that they are reconnected, they wish to commence trade. But a gigantic trade agreement went horribly wrong with the Kats and the Tharcs and war is in the air. The Tharcadians have the better navy, army, and airforce. But the Katarates never revealed what the many billions of credits they used went into...

Era IV
'Silent Dawn IV: The Dark Return'
2895 CE - 2899 CE
Summary
Outcasted from Earth once again. Rejected, hated, despised. The Homeworlders left Earth once again but this time for good. Earth is to be isolated, contained, and forsaken by the Homeworlders and all generations ahead of them. Their sworn enemies, the Templar, have escaped Earth with the majority of their army (1.2 billion souls) and the Homeworld Republic couldn't track them when they fought them when they came back to Earth. Yes, it is the Templar who first invaded Homeworld, and now they have left and have been attacking frequently on a near weekly basis for over 200 years. Tired, but never exhausted Homeworld is, they continue to live on and never give up. But all of a sudden... the Templar stopped attacking. No more invasions, threats, attacks, nothing! But it is too good to be true, the Republic knows the Temps are rebuilding and recovering and the Republic will be prepared for them. All went silent for over 20 years... 2875 they stopped. It is now 2895, strange transmissions were recieved from Kataran... The Dark Return of the Templar is now.

Era V
'Silent Dawn: The Final Life'
5077 CE - 5095 CE
Summary

It is a new age. A new age for mankind. And an age of blood. It is an unseen threat that lurked in the humans of Homeworld, a threat they never encountered. It was later called the Blood Haze, a condition that is within everyone, but only shows itself after many generations of violence, pain, and bloodshed. Once it shows itself, its hard to not fight, it becomes instinct and natural. When the Mega Gates was built, it opened the galaxy to mankind... and aliens alike. The Terrans were welcomed among the space faring races of the galaxy. Of the 8 space faring aliens, 3 didn't accept it. When the first galactic war waged, the aliens were horrified. The humans fought with such fury, hate, and efficiency, it scared the aliens. The alien's technology was lightyears ahead but the Terrans were making a fool of 3 old and powerful warrior races. As the war whethered down, 2 of the 3 were killed to extinction... The Himotiks and the Raghal, all dead. All was left was the Kkharacasians, the smartest, strongest, and most cunning of the 3. It is a standoff between races of great power. But between the superpowers, was a younger race... they may not be space faring, but they know of the war... and they have been targeted by one of the superpowers...

Yeah yeah. Very long, I know. Now the main question is: Did it interest you?

If you think it is too long, it really isn't. Despite being very far in the future, the consequences of rebuilding s civilization is little technological advance until it has stabilized. So we can easily rip Era I and II out because there is EXTREMELY little space fighter action. It is mostly ground action. However #3 is promising but both the 'Kats' and 'Tharcs' are very young at this point and don't have much of a fleet. Just a few dozen ships, maybe more. Now #4 is a suitable canidate but there is one big catch: the Homeworlders uses a space mech. Thats right, they made a special mech that can combat in space. Thats the problem, it will look somewhat unrealistic but it is your choice if you still want it. Now #5 is as perfect to Freespace2 as you can get. Space fighters, beam cannons, ect ect so it is a prime canidate for a space sim mod or TC. However this story was designed for an RTS where there really won't be a main character so playing as a pilot character changes some things however SD-V does have main characters and focuses around them and their experiences.

Now my hands are freezing. As a final note, think about it. You don't see many original TCs out there. From my experience as a modder in many communities, all I have seen was Star Wars, Modern combat, re-enactments of older series, Babalon 5, and more modern combat conversions. So considering all those unoriginals, this is a rare treat. So, I ask of you to post whether you are interested or not. This storyline is my best work so please don't put it down.

Personally I think it's very creative.

On the down side you're in the same rutt as me. There is no engine mod firendly enough to do what you want. (ie steam, as my co workers used to hound me to give up Robotech for FS2 and go to HL2 so I can do the ground stuff as well as the space stuff).

My opinion is that you've got to narrow your focus a bit more on gameplay until a suitable/viable engine comes out you can mod.

#1):  HomeWorld2 -  sounds like your best bet. (RTS style)

#2):  Bridge Commander - For tacticle starship style though the older more limited Klingon Academy did the starship part MUCH more enjoyable...)

#3): Freespace2 - strictly for a Pilot POV story...

Not sure on other engines.... You might prefer Nexus over HW2,  or Shatterstar over FS2...

Regardless, good luck on your project and KEEP FLYING! :D

Actually right now it's Return from Earth. It should be "ad terram" rather than "a terra".

I used a latin dictionary that listed thousands of results on the words I requested so I made a random pick of a simple one. But thanks, I'll change that word now.

And Robo, HW2 is nearly impossible to mod until this guy called Delphy completes his miracle tools which won't be anytime soon so thats out for now. But the thing about my mod, it is very changable and flexible so with some work I could fix it to work with FS2. Because FS2 is so fun to me, I don't really need to put ALL my portions into it, I just feel content on adding one. But... you do have a point, the perfect engine is Star Wars: Empire at War. It has space, it has planets, it has ground. Its perfect but until it comes out, I'm going to have fun modding.

Though my story was made for an RTS, I can still make it work for FS2. Just that it might not be like I imagined.
I have created a masterpiece.

That's teh thing with modding, you have to make compromises based on what engien you go for. For me my skills are almost non-existant. Add that FS2 is relatively easy to mod, and that I can concentrate on space action, my projects may seem half-a$$ed on content (ie obvious ground stuff is missing) but they still can get done eventually with some sort of satisfation and continuity.

Still teh SCP team has worked miracles and I have no doubt ground like effects will eventually come around, but ground moving and reacting (ie mechwarrior walking and stuff like that) will never be ported into the engine. I for one can ignore that limitation and concentrate on fun, not accuracy...
