no, the planet is not blowing up. it's a bunch of explosions from ships ala Freespace2 beginning cutscene.

but the vasudan in the forground more than makes up for the sort comings, I give it a B-

It seems like everytime I see a Lexx episode they atleast blow up one planet. Weird show.

umm just in case you guys didn't see my other post (which it doesn't seem like you did) it is not exploding. those are explosions from other ships fighting around the planet like in the beginning cutscene of FS2 when the 3 anubis fly by.

Do you mean the old one or the new one? The original Zev was hot but the new one is kinda... not so hot (definitely not ugly though).
