Theres one thing I'm looking for in Doom 3, can you imagine the Bullroar of the Baron, or the mechanical footsteps of the Cyberdemon in full 3D Surround?

God, that 'thud thud' sent shivers down my spine even on a wimpy little Stereo soundblaster! LOL

Indeed, a quite possible situation in DOOM 3:

You are walking down a dark hallway (as if there are any other in DOOM 3 ) and you hear the "thud-thud" sound of a Cyberdemon, you start wondering where the hell he is, maybe around the next corner or so, and suddenly he comes crashing through the wall right next to you

that would be kind of neat.

Halo is probably the only game that even start to recapture that 'horde' feeling, but in my opinion there is less thinking involved in Halo, sometimes in Doom you would have to plan out your attack on a Baron or the like very carefully, or try to draw him into a fight with other creatures.

LOL True, I must admit to the travesty of not having played it yet, so I can only speak from personal experience, but it sounds like that might be one to try
