I just remembered one of my more fun exploits in TO. It's not exactly a bad death, but, well, it's too fun(ny) to go unsung.

First some exposition - In TacticalOps, there is this one map called "Verdon" that is basically a big dam. CTs start at the bottom of the dam, SFs start at the top; oftentimes games will turn into a snipefest.
However, if the terrorists manage to get past the snipers (usually easy) there's a maze of tunnels and paths they can go through to get to the surface. One of these happens to be an elevator with an entrance in the ceiling.

So, one round I get this brilliant idea. I head over to the elevator shaft, sneak into it, and lie in wait on top of the elevator. After a small gunfight with one of my teammates, I hear someone walk into the elevator. Then I heard the doors close.

So I dropped the grenade I was holding into the elevator.

The special forces inside caught on pretty quick and started firing at me. I fire back, trying to find a way to stay alive. Of course, this didn't really matter because the grenade blew us all to hell.

Turns out I got 3 SFs with that $500 grenade.

Another incident I can remember is in Halo Multiplayer (the demo)
After securing the Banshee whilst being assaulted by several people (including 1 that kept complaining of us cheating since we actually managed to take down his Banshee), I proceeded to attack the enemy........on foot......

Getting out of the banshee while it was still moving, I proceeded to charge and throw grenades at some poor slob in front of me........only to be run over by the Banshee as it came to a full stop.

To add insult to injury, I then blew up my own body with one of the Grenades I threw, along with the Banshee to high-heaven..........ugh, was that embarresing.......

That's nothing...my little brother managed to hit himself with his own banshee in the air.

One of my friends when playing cnc renegade (we were on LAN, and used one of those nifty scripts to spawn bajillions of nod rocket soldiers) jumped out of his transport chopper right into the middle of them. It was rather amusing.

Also (I dunno what game this was from...) I fired a heat seeking missile. Accellerated to chase an enemy. Was then blown up by my own missile.

Speaking of System Shock 2, did someone found how to play it under XP without crashing every five minutes ?

The mission where you have to protect the Iceni and the Hinton. I managed to get them to the node - but what happens:
the Hinton tries to jump, but rams the Iceni and sends it spiraling towards me. I got damaged pretty bad and flew like a pinball ball around hiting the Hinton and bouncing again.
Now the Iceni tries to jump and rams the Hinton, destroying it, but continues onward ramming a asteroid and as it was starting to blow up it was still going forward and rammed me AGAIN.
Nedless to say, none survived..

Hmm...  Something similar happened to me while playing Renegade multiplayer.

I was playing as a NOD Black Hand heavy weapons soldier.  Some doofus had a transport helicopter and was loading troops.  I went in - and sealed my fate gratefully.  He took off - didn't know how to fly.  He attempted to hover to the GDI base and was either shot down by the guard tower or he ejected for some reason unknown and killed the rest of us.  It was quite funny seeing my corpse disappear on the green turf while someone over the chat channel said "you f****ng n00b!"

Good Luck, one of the Manticores taking me down with a missile just as I had gotten the last reactor on the Lucy to almost nothing.

I went into my death throes, and hit the Lucifer...



...on the reactor subsystem.

Cue endgame cinematics.

Not humiliating, but pretty cool. Now I can say that I gave my life so that other might live in BOTH Freespace games.
