DG's Big Leicestershire Bike Ride! (56k-ers beware)
Today myself and two of my loyal crewmembers saddled up our *****es and headed out to a hill we'd seen on the horizon with a tower on it. This is what happened when we got to the top:

I have a hill with the tower on the horizon too. Don't think it's the same one though.

And there was no solitary old man inside?

I wouldn't stand for that.

We made a majorly circuitous route on the way there, cos we forgot the map. On the way back, when we'd come out the park on the other side, we just bombed it down the main road. Wasn't so scenic, but it got us back to the city in time for KFC and pub

This must be one of those British quirks, 'cause I barely know anyone that bikes much. I'm the only person I know of who will just randomly bike to a spot "just because", too. :D

Here in Holland, bikes are a general means of transportation. There are bicycle lanes everywhere, and the traffic regulations are in favour of bicylcists above motorists too. I ride 22 km a day, just going to school and back, in the weekends, I do sometimes go for a random ride, but I'm to tired lately.

the thin red line zig-zagging all over the place was me this afternoon-evening, you'll probly need to put that into an image editing program and zoom in to see it well, start on the middle of the left side, there is a red dot in the 13 (aproxamate location of my home) the red line goes as you can see all the hell over the place, up to St.Claire Square (a mall) in Fairview over to O'fallon (wich has it's name cut off) then along the big ass freaking huge military base (scott air force base, AKA SAFB, AKA air mobility comand, AKA the logistical nerve center of the US military), then down to Mascoutah (the meat packing plant were I work is there), down rt 4 then the shortcut to freeburg, then Smithton, then roach town road, then Frank Scott parkway, then home and a shower :)

I wanted to ride to Beta Aquilae, but the subspace drives of my bike did not work. That's not a wonder: I developed them myself. :D

That, I would think, is one of the few major advantages of living in Britain over Australia. If you're lucky enough to find a day where it isn;t raining, you can find that sort of cool old stuff without really having to try to hard. Around here, the best you're likely to get is about three wlas from an old mud brick cottage. The advantage of several thousand years more history I suppose.

Just wondering...what do you need an EWO for out in the Scottish countryside? :p
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Yup, you can pretty much apply that description to Estonia

80 miles, huh? pwned that the summer  of 2002. Got up to 215 km in one day in 2003.;)

S'at look like the campsie fells to you? Christ... He'd be dead if he cycled most of the Scottish countryside. As would anyone.

This makes me want to cycle the west highland way... :nervous:

Can't say biking is that important to me other than for getting about, but i know a few people at uni into trails / mounting biking.  "Flat trials" is some party ammusement, if not a little bad for your carpet.
