Mineral ship?
That's how it is named in the show. Apparently, it's a miner ship that lands onto a planetoid in search for valuable minerals.

It's also one of the few original BSG ships that was not mutilated by the nuBSG team (like the poor Galatica)... But that's my opinion ;)

I may come calling to ask if I can borrow that for the Original BSG mod I'm (slowly) working...

Actually, almost all the civilian ships in the rag-tag fleet are from the original. They haven't gone through a redesign. There's even an Enterprise hanging around...

And sure, if Omni says yes you can use the ship in your mod. As long as credit is given, and you'll have to wait untill we make our first release.

Excellent work!  Would be nice to get use of it later on, just seeing it brought on a wave of nostalgia for me...

Tell me, what's the status of the BSG project (there is such a thing, right?) as far as hosting goes? ;)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Well deserved. Seriously, when I look at it I feel like something that belongs in a commercial production. Thanks for being part of the movement that's increasing the quality of FS mods beyond belief. :)

Well, you've got to remember that big part of the look of the ship comes from the textures taken from Zoic's renders (one of the companys who do the FX of the show). Omni did good job mapping the thing, but we can't take credit for all the work.

Well, since we (I) saw so little of the civ ships in the first season of the NuBSG, I won't be too surprised to learn others hadn't been mutated...

I seem to recall there was a Colonial Movers ship in there... (got to love that ships's logo.  'Colonial Movers, We move anywhere   doubt they meant all the way to Earth though!)

Guess I got distracted by the hidious Battlestar design...:nervous:

Egearly awaiting R1
