Hard to think of a song thats both unique and awesome for this pimp video.

Loud videos are so overdone, so here's my 2 cents on song ideas. Gears of War had a nice peaceful song for its ad which made it very artistic.

This song is pretty interesting, quiet for a post-hardcore band. Feels dramatic and sad. Youtube link

We could really freak viewers out by playing that distorted plea for help from the transcend campaign right at the end, followed by a shivan lurching out of the darkness and attacking the camera.

Highly overused or not, the strings part of Rammstein's Mein Herz Brennt is still one of the best pieces of trailer music out there.

it's been done, I just spent like half an hour looking for the vid, because it was a good one, but I couldn't find it. I just remember it has a fighter alone in space near an arcadia for the first pert of the song, then at the part of the song in question it has a demon destroyer come out of the nebula (quite possibly one of the most awesome things I've ever seen)

of he people who know what this song is, most will like the reference, of those who do not, it's a song about someone who was built to kill filthy inferior humans with there superior technology and biology and the lyrics and general tone fit perfectly for the shivans.

if that's the case, i dunno, maybe you guys could actually FRED it (you know, set up the scenes) and then swap in the bump mapped build when it comes out
it's just my opinion, but I think it might actually help you guys select a song to have something you can see--y'know something to match the song to

I guess I would say, if you want to show off the awesomeness of SCP, it would be good to match the song to whatever video you come up with, as opposed to matching the trailer to the song

It's much, much better to match the trailer to the music rather than the other way around. It isn't just a matter of finding appropriate music and slapping it over the footage - the video has to be paced and edited according to the track you're using. The whole thing will almost certainly feel clumsy if you do it any other way.

I'd personally prefer music that also has quiet parts. Many of those works suggested lack that. A personal favourite would be the Tannhäuser overture, particularly the first 4-5 minutes or so which have an initially quiet and beautiful buildup to a very spectacular climax. [Edit: Also the ending from about 3:40 in part two. Same progression as the start but with added dramatic violin goodness]
