Ok i know i'll probably get flamed but anyways

Is there any trainer that works with fs2open, or cheats that allow you to continue on the campaign.

The reason is that i have a few campaigns made by my friends that are actually meant for the player never to finish since they're incomplete and now i want to test them a little better so we can finish, problem is i only last a minute which is useless when you want to test a level  :D

Basically i just need my hull to hold it :doubt:

I've tried a few trainers that didn't work, i know the cheats work but then i can't finish the level (i need to pass 3 levels :()

So anyone give me a hand here

Can't search even though i've tried ;)

If it's testing, why not ask them to tick the box to make the player ship invulnerable in FRED2?

It was created a long time ago (2000) and all i do is beta test, if i had access to the actual files i would change it :D

Right now i'm beta testing this game as well, it's actually on pre-alpha stages still but works great (alpha is not so good :doubt:) http://www.evolutionvault.net/galactic_dream/intro/overview.htm

I've found a few trainers but they only give me missiles or other useless stuff, not to mention they don't work with fs2 open.

I'm starting to think the level is flawed, the ship the player is supposed to destroy always stays at 1% (invulnerability is toggled on at that point for some reason but it never leaves ), i've figured this using the builtin cheats

The cheat codes work in FS2Open and no longer prevent moving on in the campaign.

Type www.freespace2.com to activate cheats, then press ~ and a letter key to activate a cheat.
~W = infinite weapons
~I = player invulnerable
Shift ~I = target invulnerable
~K = kill target (10% damage to large objects, e.g. Sathanas, Colossus, Knossos)
~C = no clipping
~9 = force current secondary weapon to next in table
Shift ~9 = force current secondary weapon to previous in table
~0 = force current primary weapon to next in table
Shift ~0 = force current primary weapon to previous in table

So you're saying that you can move on? or is it the same like the original FS2?

I'll upload the campaign later so you guys can see what i mean

If you're playing a campaign in FS2 and type in cheats, it won't let you advance to the next mission. If you have the files needed to make the campaign run, you have the mission files - just make the player invulnerable in FRED2 :)

As far as i know, you can, in both Retail FS2 and FSO, cheat all you want and still continue the campaign. Only in the original Freespace prevented cheating you from advancing to the next mission..... right?

That's access to missions, not to continue the campaign.

Someone should make a new interface screen that when you choose to follow a campaign, you can click where you want to start from, and then the campaign starts from there, and loads the next mission generically.

Sort of like a timeline, where each box is one mission.

Just to say my problem has been solved, there was actually no victory condition on that level no wonder i couldn't win

I personally find cheats useful for debugging but they deprive us from the game experience, what's the point of playing a game if you never loose or have infinite ammo or cross through wall  waste of time ;)

EDIT: Just checked and yes the cheats do allow you to move on :doubt:

Really? ;)

Never :D

Would

Have :p

Guessed :sigh:
Spoon - I stand in awe by your flawless fredding. Truely, never before have I witnessed such magnificant display of beamz.
Axem -  I don't know what I'll do with my life now. Maybe I'll become a Nun, or take up Macrame. But where ever I go... I will remember you!
Axem - Sorry to post again when I said I was leaving for good, but something was nagging me. I don't want to say it in a way that shames the campaign but I think we can all agree it is actually.. incomplete. It is missing... Voice Acting.
Quanto - I for one would love to lend my beautiful singing voice into this wholesome project.
Nuclear1 - I want a duet.
AndrewofDoom - Make it a trio!

I did check on a custom campaign and not on the FS2 main, i tested on both retail and FS open ;)

Honestly i think they shouldd've kept it like the original FS1 where it would fail the mission :o

actually, it's more fun NOT to cheat, instead. :p
