We are preparing a new thread story at Warpstorm and are looking for people who might be interested in helping us write it. So, after a few suggestions, I decided to try and post here...
So here it goes:
First of all, a thread story is any type of controlled story in which a group of authors post various parts of the story to form a coherant plot. See examples: Neo-Hammer of Light, Nyxfall, Terran Imperium. (The last two of which can be read in Warpstorm).
So, The Vault is a thread story and it's looking for a few good writers who would be willing to participate in it.
The basic plot goes as follows:
Before the Great Cataclysm that ravaged Earth, millions of scientists all around the World, fearing for the future, fought against time to record all Human knowledge until that point and store every prototype, even if not fully tested, of every machine created in a great storage place that was called The Vault .
After the Cataclysm had passed, colonists from all around the Solar System saw that as a necessity to expand beyond the current known space and, with the help of an Alien race, the Azillians, every possible habitable planet all over the Galaxy was colonized.
Meanwhile, the Humans from the Sol System found the Vault and managed to recreate many of the technologies that had been stored. Gaining the upper hand, they took to the unnocuppied throne and declared the Empired ruled over all beings inside the Milky Way.
Wars and battles ensued as disgruntled beings fought one another in an attempt to overthrow the Empire and claim the Galaxy their own. Thus, the Empire was fractured into more than 400 tribes, each of which with a leader that fought for their rights inside the Senate. No one, however, could defy the Emperor, and no one did.
The fringe of the Galaxy started to become the perfect hideout for pirates, mercenaries and the like.
It is as such that a mercenary decides to find the Vault and give the knowledge back to the people. He forms a party and attempts to overthrow the Emperor, with the help of the tribes themselves.
There are, however, hidden interests behind every being, as the Illuminati, in their quest for enlightenment, try to find the Vault themselves and plunge the whole Galaxy into a second Dark Age where all politians will crumble and a new society will arise.
