Hi, I just purchased a copy of Freespace 2 off of eBay and installed it on my computer
(I had looked to see if it was free online..  apparently I didn't look enough)
I was just wondering if any of you found the briefing and training voices a bit odd.
I swear, it sounds like he's trying to sell me a vacuum cleaner or something!  The
voices sound totally different than in the Freespace 2 demo.  Did I receive a bogus
copy or something?  The CDs look totally legit and everything, but the ingame
voices don't have that realistic sound like there was in Freespace 1 and the
Freespace 2 demo.  It's like the voice acting was done by entirely different people.

How big is your stu_fs2.vp file? It should be 169,108 KB.

There also might be somthing wrong with your speakers. Try updating the drivers.
(I'm not sure, but it's a possibility)

It's possible he just doesn't like the actual voices.  The voice actors from FS1 and FS2 are different.  And the TSM guy does sound like a salesman.

Don't sweat it, man. After you get out of training, you get to hear the real voices, and they're awesome.

Well, the file is exactly 169,108 kb...  I guess it's just me    Just sounded different in the Freespace 2 demo.
I'm using headphones btw..  -.-

The FS2 demo voices sound a hundred times more similar to the FS1 voices than do the FS2 voices. The only voice that I can seem to connect betwen FS1 and FS2 is that of Admiral Wolf and someone who you will meet later in the campaign.
