There's no reason to get your knickers in a knot about this. It's just a forum. There is Real Life™, and there are other forums, namely ones like GTD Bastion which need more attention.

Instead of worrying about a thread full of cynicism about relationships and some scattered advice, how about just handling the problem in Real Life™ first before coming to us? We're a close community here, but we're no substitute for people in the real world.
