Re: Please help to fix this problem
What TBP Core release are you using.  If its 3.3, have you downloaded and installed the patch?  If it persists, delete any ships.tbl files in the data/tables directory.

Re: Please help to fix this problem
So you've installed the 3.3 Release updater, and installed the most recent 3.3a patch?

Re: Please help to fix this problem
Are you playing in D3D or OGL?  What's your system specs and OS?  Which FSO build are you using?

I've highlighted the more important question.

You still didn't answer the important question, and by your post it seems that you don't understand WHAT I'm actually asking.  5.2 is the build number of the Launcher, not of FSO.  You see, for 3.3(+3.3a patch) we added support for setting the initial positions of multi-part turrets, to something other than straight up or straight down, thanks to the newer animation code.  If you're still using the same build that was included with 3.2, then that's the problem right there.  The animation code isn't supported by those older builds.  To facilitate this change, more recent builds were included with the 3.3a patch.  Included are the 3.6.7 official builds, which were released in early september (IIRC), the 2005/12/22 build, which was the last one to support the older (3.3 default) animation code, and 2006/01/09, which is the most recent build that lacks any serious bugs for TBP, but it requires the new animation code.  A readme included with the 3.3a patch RAR file, has instructions on how to use it.

If you don't know what build you're using, open the launcher and take a look at the location bar just next to the "browse" button at the top.  Click in the location bar and scroll right with your keyboard arrows.  Then post which filename of fs2_open is listed there.

Re: Please help to fix this problem
You need to extract the contents of the 3.3a patch RAR into the "c:\Program Files\The Babylon Project" folder, or wherever you've put the main game.  Do not un-rar it into the "\data" directory.  Doing this correctly will automatically put all files where they need to be.  Among those files extracted from the RAR, will be a file called fs2_open_Red_2005-12-22_r.exe (as well as fs2_open_Red_2005-12-22-P4_r.exe).  When you launch the program via the launcher, there is a button called "browse".  Click that, which will bring up a list of all Freespace Open builds in the game directory.  Select the one I indicated (the one with the "-P4" part is if you're using a Pentium 4 or equivalent PC).  You may find that you get a few command line errors after doing this.  Click the "features" tab and under the "list type" drop-tab, select "graphics" and then click "enable more realistic lighting" (if you're using OGL).  Under the "gameplay" list type, make absolutely sure that "toggle features for The Babylon Project" is selected.  There may be others, so try to post any you get.  These error messages will be because the names of some command line options will have changed between the build you're most likely using (3.6.5) and the build I've indicated.  Using the 2005/12/22 build means you don't have to extract the -adv tables.  Should be the simplest solution.

Re: Please help to fix this problem
Remember though, if you're installing it so that you can just run it off your SCP install, you don't want spaces in your directories.

Re: Please help to fix this problem
Well, it's not recommended that TBP be installed as a MOD for a FS2 install.  In addition, the default install directory prevents the "MOD" feature in the launcher from working properly, because of the spaces, but it can be done manually by adding in the -mod XXXXX data into the custom command line flags.
