ok heres the deal- my friend has FS 1    i have FS 1.   ok the picture begins to form. we both want to play each other online. we aint got no freakin' clue as to how, and need a step bystep. any1 to help us/me would be a hero of sorts.

You have to wait a bit for an answer. 15 minutes isn't long enough to wait before you can be certain someone has seen the thread who may know the answer to your question.

Anyway I've never tried a LAN/IP game on FS1 but the proceedure is probably quite similar to that for FS2 which you can find here.

What you and your friend want to do is play an IP game. Both of you will have to specify eachother's IP address in the game's options screen and select to play a game that way.


EDIT: Or LAN if you're in the same network. As Kara said.

There are only 2 ways. LAN or IP. There is no more PXO for FS1. Don't know if it will be added again in the future, there's little point.

As long as you both hae each others IP address, a connection between the computers, and a computer that will run Freespace, that should be fine

Yup, either you both being on the Internet or both computers connected via a Network lead or the like
