Torpedo isn't even a mistake. The cyclops is an anti-cruiser torpedo.

Lt. Samsa also calls it a torpedo in Slaying Ravana as well.

I believe he was referring to it in the sense that a cruiser is one of the beasts of the FS universe, much like the Leviathan serpent. Note the lowercaseness of leviathan in the caption as well.

Imo it's just fine if it's not 100% correct. It doesn't really matter whether he names a ship class right, or not. He really caught the feeling of the gameplay pretty good in his article.
