I am trying to go with the HOTU torrent, but BT tells me to save the torrent to the disk first. Does anyone have just the torrent file?

"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

you probably would want to download a full retail version of the game....  refer to this thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,38195.0.html

These version work MUCH better than the HOTU version of the game..  Also, they are complete...
Well what do I do now?  Well Jack, you seem to have an act for blowing things up....

I should take issue with that :D

Apart from the missing cutscenes (which aren't an issue if you're installing SCP on top of retail anyway) the new HotU build should be as easy to download and install as the 3 retail CDs if not easier! (No hassle with burning CDs, no problems due to the 16 bit installer etc).

The only thing that should be easier than HotU is ShivanSPS' everything in one download package.

What BT has you do is you save the torrent file which has the information on the seeders and such. It is also where the torrent itself will be saved as it's downloaded.

"Determine never to be idle...It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing." --Thomas Jefferson

the HOTU version is great minus the fact that there are no cut scenes. I am waiting of the full SCP version to finish to make my evaluation

So the HotU version now has voice / music / hi-res etc.?

And one other thing... what kind of d/l speeds do you get on HotU?

Mine's sitting at 6.5kB/s (on 512k DSL)... Only 27 hours to go!

What happens if you try a direct HTTP download? The main advantage of HotU over ShivanSPS' torrent is that you don't need BitTorrent.

I got it to work. Everything is fine now.
