nice turret, but your UV map looks a little funny on the rotating part of the turret base...unless you planned that.

now that looks painful. It would be cool if the barrels fired out of synch. too bad they can't recoil back into the gun. That turret looks like it was designed for a gun that kicks hard.

Excellent model, would really be a good use for a planet-to-orbit gun. But I like the textures even more, very realistic IMO.
I wish I could do artwork like that myself

not exactly, no. It just popped into my head whilst I had DoGA CGA open, as well as the need to change turret styles from the old deck-arty style I've had so far.

That looks awesome.  I think it bears more of a resemblance to a 20mm quad from WWII.  For all that people say the base looks weird with the intersection, I think it appears natural, almost like a reinforcing for it.  All in all, it still doesn't change one simple fact...I want one outside my bedroom window to deal with the neighbor's annoying dog.

That is very well done. I would have that as my choice for a large, high velocity kinetic weapon similar to the Maxim gun. It looks excellent to fill the role of a planetary defense gun as well as a destroyer's turret. It's also similar to something that I would design, but not quite what I'd have in mind.
