I have to admit I imagine the Epic offices to be full of slightly overweight programmers wearing gigantic faux-metal codpieces, perhaps for gesticulatory purposes.
perhaps they're -very- unsuccessful with the ladies, and hence why they wear them

mind you, these days, they might haveta develop large face shields, too.
as for metroid, or nintendo for that matter, the problem is with nintendo, that they pretty much run their games on the hype alone, and don't market their products as much as Sony and Microsoft do, whom put a hell of a lot of funding out just for advertising alone.
The Gamecube failed miserably on the shelves in Australia, and some stores where i live simply refused to sell 'em. it was thoroughly ousted when the Xbox hit the shelves here, and i don't doubt that the xb360 will sell real well here either. however, i am waiting for final specs of the revolution, and its full controller setup, as it does look interesting, it irritates me how nintendo are being so secretive, since, after all, they haveta compete with the two larger companies, 'cept maybe in japan, 'cuz as we all know, Japanese are big fans of small technological things.
oh, and this may be worth a smile, the Playstation 3 has already earnt its nickname
"the breadbox" aka, the sony breadbox.
