The flaming sword is the mission in main FS2 campaign where you have to detonate the Knossos device with meson bombs. I'm playing the mission with FS2_open 3.6.7. but I can't complete it, because the two last Meson bombs won't detonate. Also some of the Maras behaved oddly, they flew very slowly and made no evasive maneuvers. Is this a known mission bug, or did I discover something new? Does anybody know how to fix it?

Someone may correct me on this, but I think that you have to be far enough away before they will blow.  Stick near the Vasudan capship (can't remember the name off-hand) and see if it works then.

If I remember right, you are supposed to be destroyed by the meson's if you are within 3,000 meters of them.

There was a problem with special explosions not working, but I thought that was a CVS build thing...

Replayed the mission, and now they exploded. I remember I was some 4000 away from the bombs on the first try, but now I was 5000, maybe that makes a difference.

"A Flaming Sword" is a rather buggy mission.  There are a lot of ways for it to dead-end if things happen out of order.

That and a lion at the door are my two favourite missions for testing new ships, or weapons.
