Problem with progressing in Original Campaign Mission: Bearbaiting
So, yes, having discovered the joys of Freespace 2 for the first time I was plowing my way through the standard campaign.

Unfortunately, when I reached the mission entitled Bearbaiting, I encountered a problem. Bearbaiting is mission where you have to destroy/disable all four of the SJ Sathanas' beam turrets. However, instead of having the GTM Helios warheads I only have 2 sets of Hornets. This dilemma makes the mission pretty much impossible since the hornets do not do enough damage to destroy the beam turrets before the Sathanas leaves the area thus failing the mission.

I'm running Freespace 2 via the FS2SCP launcher v5.3.

Any advice on what could be done to fix the matter would be most appreciated.

That's odd. What happens if you pick the mission from the tech room? (Add the -allslev flag in the launcher's Custom Flags if the mission isn't available).

The same problem exists in the mission simulator in the tech room.  :sigh:

Re: Problem with progressing in Original Campaign
The fact that it didn't work in the techroom ruled out all manner of possible answers. Try the tech rooom again with a new pilot. (You'll definitely need to use -allslev for that).

IF that doesn't work we're dealing with a table problem. If it does work I can simply make you a campaign file starting at Bearbaiting.

Yeah, creating a new pilot worked. Thanks for the help. I've PMed my e-mail address to you so you can send the campaign file.

Any idea why the table might be incorrect? Might it be because I converted the pilot profile from the original FS2 to FS2SCP?

Again, thanks for the all the help.

Re: Problem with progressing in Original Campaign
Table errors would be the cause if you got the same error with a new pilot. Since you didn't it seems likely that there was an error caused when you ported the pilot to SCP.

No need for the e-mail address though. I remembered that someone else once had a similar problem with Bearbaiting and I had previously posted a campaign file. You can find it as a rar file here. Unpack it with winRAR and stick it in mediavps\data\missions (if you have a mediavps folder) or data\missions (if you don't).

Delete the file immediately after you complete the campaign though or you won't be able to replay the campaign from the start next time.

This same thing happened to me and it happened after i added the Freespace 1 port. I don't know how it happened, but it did indeed.

Oh, and I recommend keeping seperate pilots for each mod campaign, to avoid this in the future. At least until we get revamped pilot code.
