Hey just say a trailer for the silent hill movie and it dosen't look that bad, i didn't even know that there was a film being made, i just hope it dosen't follow suite with the other game to film adaptations. Silent hill is my favourite horror series which reminds me does anyone know how where i can get copys of 3 and 4 for the PC, i could never find them in the shops even when they were suposeded to be released now where stock them.

if there is any consistancy with the Shivans, it's their lack of consistancy - -Norbert-

You can probably buy those games on the net somewhere. Just run them fhrough a price comparison site and you'll be fine. Personally I'll be buying the Silent Hill collection for the PS2 at the end of the month. It's 25 quid which works out at over 8 pounds per game, but that's much cheaper than buying them all seperately (even 2nd hand). I'd be interested in knowing if the version of SH2 in the collection is the director's cut version or not though, if anyone knows.

The movie looks pretty good. I'm trying not to get too excited about it. From what I can gather there's a lot of potential for a good movie in the SH games. More than you might find in a game like Street Fighter or Mario Bros :nervous:. I have to say though, the trailer doesn't convince me entirely. It seems to be trying to hard to do the ring thing at times. Even though SH has never been short of creppy little girls it never came across as an all out J-horror rip off like the movie does in the trailer. The wise old lady was a bit cliche' too, and why the hell did they cast Galadriel from Lord of the Rings? Bad move. Also Boromir from Lord of the Rings in the outside world researching the town on the internet? Aside from the flipping Rings reunion thing going on I can see having someone on the outside utterly shattering the claustrophobic , no-escape atompshere of town of Silent Hill.

IIRC Sean Bean is only in it because the studio threw back the finished script and demanded it had at least one male character.

Well, the studio are pricks for doing that and the screen writers are pricks for introducing a character "on the outside" to solve the problem. Unless it works out spectacularly well, in which case I am a prick for having so little faith. Also that's not Galadriel is it, it's the Borg Queen. Whoever she is her character is still rubbish. I am actually looking forward to this film, seriously ;).

Does anyone else find Sean Bean oddly erotic?
In a non-homosexual way?
Strange.

But yeas, Sean Bean does rock.

I can't see how another man can be erotic in a non-homosexual way. Err, unless you're a woman. Or you just have a fetish for various manly appendages.

It was more of a light hearted joke really.

But what if I did think Sean Bean had an erotic voice, and what if I did still like girls?
Does that shake any foundations there?

I don't think the Silent Hill film could be in better hands.

Christophe Gans is not only a fan of the games, but he seems to actually understand what the series is all about. Not to mention Akira Yamaoka himself has praised his work on the movie.

It sounds to me like you're confusing horror films with slasher or gore flicks or one of the other terrible sub-genres that aren't actually real horror films.

The wise old lady was a bit cliche' too
Well, that's hardly their fault. It is an adaption of the first game after all. It wouldn't be SH1 without Dalia.
