The thing is Knarfe1000, when release candidate 7 of FSOpen came out I went to all the trouble of getting rid of all the load time errors TBP was causing. Due to changes in what FSOpen expected to see in the tables and what it determined was allowable. Now I tried a new build last night in testing the new 3 sphere hyperspace effect but to my disappointment I couldn't even get TBP to load! It threw a whole host of new errors. It turns out they've moved the goal posts again and I'll probably have some more work to do to make TBP compatible with the latest build.
The point I'm trying to make is that even if I manage to sort out all these little objecttypes issues with Goober, and even if I manage to get the hyperspace effect looking nice, and even if Fishguts and I manage to finish this huge list of little tweaks and improvements we want to make. We could still release a version of 3.4 and find that it's out of date within a few weeks when they release the final stable FSOpen 3.6.9 build.
So that has to happen before we can release 3.4 in a completed state.
That said, once Fishguts and I have finished our upgrades and we are happy with it we may release it in beta test form. This is a sensible idea this time around since there are a lot of changes. Any camapign written for older versions of the game will need tweaking at least. On the plus side the changes are paying off and we're seeing big improvements in the product. There will certainly be a final, tarted up version of Raider Wars to play with the beta, and a cut-down BHX demo.
