Not too bad for a second try, but you NEED a new background.... it looks like a 300-odd pixel pic blown up to 800 pixels or so.

and shorter..
and the saucer is more round...

Geez dude, you really need a better Earth map.  Bug me sometime over ICQ and I'll send it to you with the proper detail settings and everything.  I use 3dsmax so you'll have to translate the settings a little, but they're pretty much the same from what I hear.
