I am having problems with the launcher.  I am able to run it ONCE and then everytime I try to start it again it crashes.  It will only work if I delete the launcher6.ini file.

any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Launcher V5.3
FS_Open from april
3.8.6 vp files

Use fewer command line options, IIRC.  I think it's a known bug.

It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here

For no apparent reason, I too am now experiencing this bug, and I must say it is QUITE annoying. Yeah, probably too many command line options as it wasn't happening until I added specular modification flags. At first I thought it was a virus or data corruption but thank God I found this thread XD -- oh well, i guess ill just input the damn flags manually, or better yet, ill make a damned batch file, lol >_>

Just put the ones that you always use in "data/cmdline_fso.cfg".  You put the options in there as a cmdline (meaning all on one line) and the game will do the rest, launcher be damned.  The launcher won't show those options though so you'd have to edit the file again to disable them.  That's why I say to just put the ones that you always use, for all mods, so that way you can have a shorter cmdline in the launcher for the things that you tend to turn on/off.

What I do to circumvent this problem while still being able to use as many command line options as I wish is as simple as this:

Set the configuration once, choose the command lines that you wish to utilize, copy the command line and paste it into notepad. Save the text file as *.bat file. Choose a nice icon for the bat file. Now the only time you need to touch the broken launcher is when you need to change the configuration and you don't remember which command line does what. Mods are easy enough to change by simple editing, though, and I think they are the most frequent reason for changing the configuration.

I know it's kinda "chewing gum -solution" - not pretty, not as nice to use as the launcher, but at least it doesn't crash. It's very annoying trying to use the Launcher when every time you start it you have to delete launcher6.ini and then set up everything again.
