Grug: Thanks, but not yet. atm, I am tossing about the idea for a potential comic series, but nothing conclusive yet, since I'd need a website to any such endeavour justice (which I sorely lack)

The reason they dont fire their guns is because they cant. Those are Arcas class cruisers that are attacking, along with the support of a Vindication class (which is unseen since its in the background behind the Maxwell destroyer's engine complex). The Vindication has, in essence, the ability to make its own luck. This luck is absolutely random - and can range from having a friendly vessel suddenly having casuality on it's side, and an enemy shot just missing a critical region by inches - or as we see in this case, shutting them down into resetting for the few critical seconds in which to strike.
