Also if you want to know how diverse the creatures really can be check out the official Spore shots, this is one awesome in-game editor for sure.

Interesting that it was the very first thing I thought of back when I watched the GDC '05 footage. I don't think it would be too hard really, can't replicate the portable beamy thing though.
