Blender (www.blender3d.com) to make Freespace models?  I just came across it and it looks kickass, but I didn't know if it exported to the format Freespace uses, or something like that.  Just wondering...

I don't know, if they do, I haven't seen them, and I might do some modeling myself if I did. The wiki says there's people, but I haven't seen hide nor hair.

Yes, they have.  I started off with Blender, 4 or 5 years ago.  not sure exactly how people export from it, though; probably using TS and PCS.

Anyone any good at Python? A direct exporter from Blender might be useful.

Vasudan Admiral is probably the Patron Saint of Blender. The HTL Triton, Lucifer and all his other stuff was modelled in Blender iirc.
