I still get shivers when I think of the scene from Star Trek 2 or 3 or 4 (I don't remember! The one with V-Ger with a bald chick in a short skirt and the giant cloud of doom) where the transporters malfunction. When the people start forming there's the blurry "thing", and the inhumane scream.

I was pretty young when I saw it, so it has really sunken in to my mind. The malformed human form. The horrible scream. I'll never forget it.
The rest of the movie was pretty lame (light-blue pajamas as uniforms ).

2 was KHAAAAAAAAAAN          -this is a good one (lots of fun when drunk)
3 was very forgettable          -mediocre
4 was the one with the whales           -i love this one
5 was crap (directed by william shatner)  -bleh
6 was political (i watched it when i was young and didnt understand it, and i havent watched it since)

I remember when I was little I watched The Empire Strikes Back, and there's the scene where Han Solo is gets zapped/sparked/drugged or something before the carbonite.. ever since then I have a hard time sitting through that scene without squirming.. he did a good job of screaming. *shudder*

starship troopers made me laugh, i wouldnt call it overly disturbed though. the lynch version of dune had some rather disturbing scenes, i loved the spacing guild. the harkonen family was rather disturbing as well. but thats scifi and i dont think it counts, as it was telling a story and not expressing a nihilistic idea. i think fight club is a good example of a mainstream movie capable of causing mental damage to anyone that watches it, but its nothing compaired to some of the flicks out of the indie circuit. the movie spun was pretty ****ed up, but i dont think i caught the ending. gummo now was probibly the most ****ed up thing i had ever seen. it had no plot, no real story to tell but rather served to cast a dark shadow on the human race, showing its true black nature.

Lynch added a lot of unneeded crap in his film version, the disgustingness of the Baron was one thing that just made me think, "What the hell is this in aid of?"
Also melting hand inside the box, say what? It's all in his head there's no need to visualise it.

I like his film version, still one of my fave ones, even though some of the unnessesary additions left a bitter taste in my mouth. But I'm a sucker for Dune anyway.

Also, I object to your phrase "good nudity scene". It's too oxymoronic. There are no good nudity scenes in mainstream movies, not for the last 40 years.

Also, sickest movie is "The Saddest Music in the World". Guy asks woman: "Why, are you a Canadian?" "No, I'm a nymphomaniac." I sort of left after a short while though.

event horizon is one of those movies that just kicks ass. the interior of that ship was just brutally awesome, people without eyes was cool too. but it just doesnt say "you humans are pathetic and you should kill yourselfs" like a true sicko movie should.
