RCMP Arrest 18 Terror Suspects near Toronto
Big news story for us Canadians today.

Seems that a number of people have been rounded up (18) by the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) in a big anti-terrorist sweep near Toronto.  They had 3 tonnes of amonium nitrate which would definately be enough to do some major damage around the city.  Sort of shocking for this stuff to go down so close to home.  It reveals what some have been saying for a long time is true...and that is that Canada is not immune to these people.

Nobody is alas. They don't really care about 'innocent' or 'guilty' any more, it's just turning into 'Kill Westerners!!1'

So they weren't going to try and smuggle that stuff across the border and blow up something in the US?
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

I wondered that myself, but according to the arresting officers, the explosives were intended specifically for targets in Canada.

They were alegedly plotting to target Bay Street...that is to say the economic hub of the country.  Its like Wall Street in New York.
