i had a blog but i realised that noone reads it and promptly deleted it. ****ing waste of time imho.

I think this might be a mistake. :nervous:

Why, is that you?

In which case...

Right, sunshine, next time you send a friend request let me know who you bloody are.  It's hard enough filtering out the few people I know visually from the barrage of Lithuanian nutcases and struggling porn stars, let alone internet-people.

Re: Who here blogs? I blog.
I had a blog for a few months, but people read it. Which wasn't expected or desired, so it got taken down.

I mean, who reads blogs? Seriously? Especially the crap on Myspace. Best example of write-only memory ever.

Re: Who here blogs? I blog.
Some blogs are good, if it's from people who don't do it as their sole vocation and actually have proper jobs and stuff.  But the concept of this nebulous 'blogsphere' is utter pish.  It's a slightly more exposed diary-combined-with-general-bollocks-store, that's all.

Like, the Bad Science blog is good; http://badscience.net/

Re: Who here blogs? I blog.
Oh, blogs that contain useful information as the rule rather than the exception are OK. Microsoft's developer blogs can be really useful.

But online diaries to allow everyone to write (lie?) about their boring lives? Load of self-important bull****.

Why the hell did that myspace have a security certificate attached to it?

I used to have to use proxies to get around the school's filters, and that just happened to be an unfortunate side effect.

Meh. I have a bog-standard blog, but at least it's my own design.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
